"Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act."
Proverbs 3:27 (NIV)

There are many ways to assist the ongoing work of Christian Friends of Korea in North Korea.  Please prayerfully consider how you can best be a part of this work.

Prayer Support

Your regular prayers for Christian Friends of Korea and our ongoing work in North Korea are greatly coveted.  There are many challenges involved in this work requiring wisdom and discretion beyond our human capabilities.

The current political situation between North Korea and her neighbors is tense and uncertain.  Please pray for wisdom and restraint for all of the leaders involved.

The humanitarian situation continues to be very serious.  Please pray that the needs of the people will be met.

For an update on specific current prayer concerns for CFK, please email tsmith@cfk.org and we will send you one by email.

Visit the Gifts of Hope and Give Generously–

Talk to your Missions Committee about supporting CFK –

Many churches are unaware of the work of Christian Friends of Korea.  You could be a vital link between your church’s missions committee and CFK.

If you are a PCUSA church, do you know that CFK is a registered Extra-Commitment Opportunity in the PCUSA?

Invite CFK to share at your church

We welcome the opportunity to come and share with your church about our work in North Korea.  It is a privilege to share photos and stories of what your gifts mean to those we serve.
Please contact us to arrange an engagement.

Volunteering (NC-local) –

If you live in the Western North Carolina region, there are ways you can help the efforts of Christian Friends of Korea directly.  Such help might include sorting and/or repackaging goods for shipment, assisting with the packing of a container, assisting with our mailings, etc.  If you would like to help, please call our office for more information on our current volunteer opportunities.

Volunteering (your church) –

We have a variety of projects that your local church or community could directly participate in.  For example, a great need at the tuberculosis facilities is for vocational projects to keep patients occupied while they spend months recovering from tuberculosis.  In the past we have sent such things as yarn and knitting needles, embroidery kits, puzzles, games, etc.  We seek volunteers who are willing to collect and organize such things and then ship them to us for inclusion in a sea container.  Please check out our Hands-on Projects for Churches and Groups or contact our office for further information.

Another idea would be to host at your church an “Alternative Gifts Fair” prior to the holiday season.  (See www.altgifts.org, a sponsor of one of CFK’s programs, for ideas on how to do this.)

Our Commitment to You –

We recognize that there are many competing and worthy causes for your time and resources.  We are voluntary members in good standing with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), and submit to an independent financial audit of our books every year.  We seek to use the resources entrusted to us as wisely and efficiently as we can.  Upon request, we are happy to provide a copy of our IRS Form 990.
