New Opportunities Opening in Mongolia

We are excited about new doors and opportunities that are opening to CFK that may, in the longer term, also widen opportunities for creative re-engagement with North Korea. The board of CFK has been encouraging us to explore how we could deploy our skills, unlock stranded resources in China, and find ways to use and build our core competencies for delivery of care to challenged populations.
We have been exploring various paths and found Mongolia an avenue worthy of deeper exploration.

In April 2024, we redirected to Mongolia a 40’ container of relief goods. We sent the container to Jesus Assembly Church in Erdenet, Mongolia (second largest city) for them to distribute through their network of 45 affiliated churches and missionaries. The 40’ container included hygiene kits, blankets, and relief kits with five-gallon buckets including family sized hygiene kits. Since its arrival in April, these items have been carefully distributed through ministry outreach to needy ger families, to prisons, hospital patients, and to many outlying communities.
